Responsible Gambling Tools at Golden Tiger
Every tool listed below is available directly in your account dashboard under “Responsible Gambling”. Changes to limits take effect immediately โ relaxing them requires a 24-hour cooling-off period.
Set a maximum amount you can deposit per day, week, or month. Once your limit is reached, deposits are blocked until the period resets. Reducing a limit takes effect immediately. Increasing one requires a 24-hour wait.
Set a cap on how much you can lose in a single session, day, week, or month. When your loss limit is reached, your session ends automatically. This is separate from โ and can be used alongside โ a deposit limit.
Set a maximum session length โ 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours, or a custom value. Reality check reminders pop up at intervals you choose (every 15, 30, or 60 minutes) showing your net session result.
Take a short break from gambling โ 24 hours, 48 hours, or up to 30 days. Your account stays open but play is blocked during the cool-off. Cannot be cancelled once activated. Useful after a losing session or stressful period.
Permanently or temporarily block yourself from Golden Tiger Casino. Options: 6 months, 12 months, 24 months, or indefinite. During exclusion, your account is frozen, bonuses forfeited, and marketing stopped immediately. Lifting an exclusion requires a minimum 24-hour review period.
View a complete breakdown of your deposits, withdrawals, bonuses claimed, and net win/loss over any time period. Transparency about your own gambling history is one of the most effective responsible gambling tools available.
Are You Gambling Safely?
These are common early signs of problem gambling. The more you recognise, the more important it becomes to use the tools above or speak to someone. Select any that apply:
I spend more money on gambling than I originally planned
I chase losses โ I keep playing to try to win back what I’ve lost
Gambling has caused problems at work, school, or with relationships
I hide my gambling or feel guilty or ashamed about it
I borrow money or sell possessions to fund gambling
I feel anxious, irritable, or low when I’m not gambling
I’ve tried to cut down but found it difficult
The 6 Principles of Healthy Gambling
Gambling stays enjoyable when it stays within these boundaries. Every experienced player knows them. Most problem gamblers wish they’d followed them from the start.
Gamble because it’s enjoyable โ not to make money, escape problems, or recover losses. As soon as gambling feels like a chore or a necessity, stop.
Never gamble with rent, grocery, bill, or emergency funds. Your gambling budget is money you can genuinely afford to lose entirely โ because you might.
Decide how long you’ll play before you start. Use the session timer in your account. When time is up, close the browser โ even if you’re winning.
Chasing losses is the most common path from recreational gambling to problem gambling. Accept losses as the cost of entertainment. They don’t “owe” you a win.
Alcohol, fatigue, and emotional distress all impair gambling decisions. The best gambling sessions happen when you’re clear-headed, calm, and not chasing anything.
If you’re unsure whether your gambling is healthy, talk to someone. The NZ Gambling Helpline is completely free and confidential. Asking for help early is far easier than addressing it later.
NZ Gambling Law & Consumer Protection
New Zealand passed the Online Casino Gambling Act 2025, which received its second reading in Parliament on 3 March 2026. The legislation introduces up to 15 domestic online casino licences, overseen by the Department of Internal Affairs, effective 1 May 2026.
Under this framework, licensed operators are required to provide mandatory responsible gambling tools including self-exclusion, deposit limits, and loss limits. Operators must also connect to a national self-exclusion register once established, verify all players are 18+, and maintain 24/7 problem gambling support.
Until domestic licences go live in Q1 2027, New Zealand players continue to legally use offshore-licensed operators โ including Golden Tiger Casino. Playing at offshore sites is not illegal for individual NZ residents.
Right to self-exclude from all licensed casinos
Right to set binding deposit and loss limits
Right to transparent session and balance data
Right to lodge a complaint through the operator
Right to access free problem gambling support via the state-funded helpline
Gambling on credit is prohibited โ no credit cards accepted at licensed NZ casinos from 2027
